"Part of a study conducted by Research International Qualitatif (Thiesse, 1996a) of teenagers worldwide explored how teenagers viewed their future, and their expected optimism or pessimism about their life as an adult. Since it was difficult for them to verbalize at a rational level, groups of teenagers in each country were asked to develop collages about their feelings with regard to their future life (Thiesse, 1996a). This revealed significant differences between countries. A collage produced by some Argentinean teenagers showed strong signs of pessimism, while another constructed by Greek teenagers reflected greater optimism and hedonism."
